National Arts Centre's Commitment to Youth and Education

The National Arts Centre's commitment to education is three-fold: to produce the very best of the performing arts for young audiences; to support the work of those teaching the arts in classrooms and homes by providing teaching resources that are accessible, engaging and educationally sound; and to provide training in music, theatre and dance for young and emerging artists at the highest level.

There are many programmes that young people are taking advantage of at the National Arts Centre. Evening performances are very affordable through our half-price and Live Rush ticket programmes and students can attend free open rehearsals with the National Arts Centre Orchestra and participate in the many live music, dance and theatre performances aimed at student audiences. Not all performances are held at the National Arts Centre. Theatre and music professionals will visit schools to lead workshops and performance-demonstrations. There are also opportunities for teacher training in the arts. For details on all of our programmes for student audiences download the 2002-2003 Arts Alive brochure.
