Concerts & Educational Events

Repertoire on tour includes the Beethoven Violin Concerto featuring Pinchas Zukerman as violin soloist and Dvorák’s Symphony No. 8, (to be performed in Saskatoon and Regina); Bach’s Violin Concerto with Zukerman as soloist, Elgar’s Serenade for Strings, and Mozart’s Symphony No. 39 (to be performed in Medicine Hat and Grande Prairie), Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 (to be performed with the Beethoven Concerto in Calgary), and a special gala programme in Edmonton. With the exception of Edmonton, all programmes, also feature the NAC-commissioned work The Boughs of Music for trumpet and orchestra by Canadian composer Gary Kulesha. It will feature the NAC Orchestra’s Regina-born principal trumpet Karen Donnelly.

Student Matinees

The NAC Orchestra will again bring its highly successful recipe for Student Matinees TO Alberta and Saskatchewan. The Orchestra’s Principal Youth and Family Conductor Boris Brott will conduct three student matinees focusing on the music of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

As the tour progresses, daily listings will display current web journal and photo gallery entries. Watch the website expand before your eyes as new content gets added at every stop!
